What the Fasted app collects, why, where it is kept and how to delete it.
In short
- Your journal (fasts, drinks, electrolytes, check-ins and notes) stays on your phone. We never receive it.
- Your account holds only your profile and what is needed to sign you in.
- No ads, no analytics and no tracking tools. Your data is never sold or shared.
- You can delete your account at any time, in the app or on this website.
What stays on your phone
Your fasting sessions and notes, water and electrolyte logs, check-ins, reminders, theme and widget all stay on your phone. They are not uploaded to your account or to us. You can export a copy from Profile; Delete local data erases it, and so does uninstalling Fasted. Reminders are scheduled on your phone, not sent from a server.
What your account holds
- How you sign in: your Google account, your email address and password, or your phone number, plus an account ID. Passwords are stored only as a secure hash.
- Your profile: first and last name, email, country and date of birth, plus an optional gender and an optional profile photo.
- When your account and profile were created and last changed.
Why it is used
- To sign you in and keep your account secure.
- To show your profile in the app.
- Your date of birth confirms you are 18 or older; Fasted is for adults.
Your data is not used for advertising or profiling, and no automated decisions are made about you.
Where it is kept
Accounts run on Google Firebase. Profiles are stored in Cloud Firestore in Belgium, in the EU, and sign-in is handled by Firebase Authentication on Google's infrastructure. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Only you can read your profile, and every change goes through Fasted's own server functions, which check it.
Who else processes it
Google provides Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore and Cloud Functions) and processes this data on Fasted's behalf. If you sign in with your phone number, it is passed to SMS providers to deliver your code. Firebase also creates an app instance ID on your phone and sends it with each request to Fasted's server functions; Fasted doesn't use or store it. Nobody else receives your data.
How long it is kept
Your profile is kept until you delete your account. Deletion takes effect immediately and no backup is kept. Google Cloud keeps routine service logs for up to 30 days; they don't contain your profile details.
Deleting your account
In the app: Profile, then Delete account. Without the app: delete your account on the web. This permanently removes your profile, your photo and your sign-in. It doesn't touch the journal on your phone; Delete local data does that.
Your rights
You can see and correct your profile in the app at any time, and delete your account as described above. Depending on where you live, you may have other rights, such as asking for a copy of your data or complaining to a data protection authority.
Children
Fasted is for adults aged 18 and over. Sign-up checks your date of birth, and no account is knowingly kept for anyone younger.
This website
fasted.club has no ads, cookies or analytics. The account deletion page signs you in with Google's Firebase, and uses Google reCAPTCHA when you sign in with your phone number.
